Thank you for checking us out!

Ozark EV has been the product of several years of hard-work from five Arkansawyers who thought that Electric Vehicle Charger Installation should be easy!

Did you know that if you Google "how much does it cost to install an EV Charger" you will see results ranging from $200-$8,000 in the first few pages?

With such a wide range, it can become extremely challenging and frustrating for customers to know whether they are getting ripped off, or how much their job should actually cost.

We charge $1,495 (including tax!) for our Turn-Key Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE aka 'car charger') installation package. Why are we charging so much?

The truth is, we aren't. When I see the lower end of the spectrum mentioned, my eyes get wide and I make a funny face because I would want nothing to do with the charger that was installed for "$200."

For reference, $200 doesn't cover the material cost of the wire we use on all of our installs. You can cut corners, but your charge time will suffer, and your circuit could be a potential fire hazard with undersized wire.

I'm not sure who has installed a charger for $200, but I guarantee that it wasn't legal, didn't involve an electrician, and certainly would void your homeowner's insurance policy if your home ever burned to the ground (even if it wasn't the charger's fault, having an unauthorized installer in your panel can get you up a creek in a hurry).

To run a reputable, reliable electrician business in Arkansas, one needs at a minimum:

  • 12,000 hours of on-the-job training

  • 572 hours of classroom time

  • To pass the Master Electrician examination

  • To hold a Surety Bond

  • To carry $1,500,000 in per site Liability Insurance coverage

  • To pay Franchise fees to the Arkansas Secretary of State

  • To hold a permit from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration

  • To carry a city business license

  • To carry Workman's Compensation Insurance

  • Have a Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN)

  • To Pay Employment Tax

  • To Pay Franchise Tax

  • To Pay State Withholding Taxes

  • To Pay Sales and Use Tax

  • To Pay Unemployment contribution Tax

There are a lot of taxes and hoops involved in just about every step there is. Companies that disregard the law and operate in the gray are able to give cut-rate prices because they are not paying money where it is owed. Ultimately, this boils down to stealing money from you and I, and means that the people who need the services these taxes pay for are left underfunded.

So in addition to the remote survey, phone consultation, courtesy messages, permit, materials, labor, and warranty which are included in our Turn-key EVSE Installation package. You can get a better understanding of where that money goes, and feel good that it is staying in AR (less federal taxes!).

Cheers,

Kiyoshi
